Nicholas Gruen kindly alerted me to a security hole affecting all WordPress blogs, and Tim Lambert’s post reminds me that I should spread the word about the need to upgrade to version 1.5.1.3. My experience and Flute’s commenting at Tim’s is that it’s a very simple job (10 minutes or so) and if you’re starting at 1.5 there should be some additional stability benefits

FYI, John, the WordPress problem seems to be less serious than the one that affects other platforms, but upgrading is definitely worthwhile.
Those of you who are blogging on 1.5 should keep an eye on the news feeds at the bottom of the Dashboard when you log in — they’ll keep you up to date with issues like this, and also alert you to new features, planned features, and assorted tips and tricks.
I know you use a different front-end to post, John, so you could add WordPress Planet (the source of that news feed) to your bookmarks for an occasional visit.
Ahh, planned obsolescene.
Oh, this is exciting! Let the change begin.
