    For those interested in the latest news, today a group of prominent economists, lawyers and other interested parties have given their tacit approval in an open letter supporting Labor’s fiscal stimulus measures during the early days of GFC which prevented the Australian economy from falling into a deep recession and preventing massive unemployment which contradicts the Coalition’s false claims that the stimulus did bugger all except get Australia into debt. From a historical perspective the Rudd government must be viewed as exceptional good economic managers at a time when the global economy was spiralling out of control and a great deal of uncertainty existed. But for Labor’s foresight and good economic management Australia has come off relatively unscathed.
