Monday Message Board

I’m running a bit late today. It’s past time to put up the Monday Message Board, where you can comment on any topic that takes your fancy. I note that Tim Dunlop is thinking of adopting this idea. Does anybody have any suggestions for other regular features they’d like to see?

As always, comment on any topic, civilised discussion, no coarse language

  1. I am. I think of blogging as in large part a conversation (some don’t, which is fair enough)and you’ve encouraged this aspect better than just about anyone. I really hope me thinking about doing it too would not discourage you from continuing?

  2. That was a nonexclusive “other” Tim. I would be flattered if you adopted this idea – my only blogging innovation, and one I’m quite proud of.

  3. I still hope that John Howard will resign this year, and have a productive retirement doing whatever. I can think of several developments, not always beginning with his government, that will in twenty to fifty years be judged as negative contributions to Australian society, but I am trying to think of what will be judged his positive legacy. This seems a reasonable question (or is it?), now the Coalition has been in government for a decade under his leadership.

  4. about the ephemerality of blogging – the problem with the more prolific posters (mentioning no names, John, Tim and James Russell!) is that you comment somewhere and then you can never find the thread again (ok, you can if you scroll for a few years). that’s why those ‘recent comments’ lists are great. wish they were a more common feature.

  5. oh, and photos are good too! have been shocked lately to put faces to Yobbo and Scott Wickstein (sooooo not what i expected of either). if Tim ever gets around to fulfilling his long-forgotten promise of showing his face (ah, you think we’ve forgotten, Tim), we’ll probably all get another shock. or not.

  6. A blogslam sounds right.
BTW I had no idea JH would make his decision public today. What about Peter Costello? Now that is a tough call.
