The teams I back seem to be losing pretty steadily at the moment. I’m just back from seeing the Bullets go down by 2 points to West Sydney. Kevin Freeman took a difficult shot to push it into extra time on the buzzer, but missed. Still, there’s plenty of time to turn the season around.

While you are at it, will you now plant the kiss of death on Kerry’s cheeks?
I am sticking to my prediction that Bush will win the US election, but I confess that it is looking pretty shaky now.
If the US electorate was normal, ie reasonably informed and unimodal in preference distribution, then Kerry would win in a canter.
Unfortunately, multiculturalism and class division have distorted political choice in the US.
Just to qualify that: racist ethno-seperatism, economist class-domination and religious sectarian madness have distorted political choice in the US.
Fortunately, feminist gender-blendering has gone off the boil abit since the loopiness of the Naomic Woolf, Andrea Dworkin, Catherine Mackinnon push has been exposed.
Thank god John Howard, and the common sense of the AUS people, has spared us the bulk of this nonsense.
I haven’t been following the basketball for a couple of years, but I happened to watch Sydney vs Melbourne and I am just staggered at the amount of player turnover that is going on in the basketball teams these days. It was bad enough when I was watching it, but it seems to have gotten even worse. Every season you have to learn who the players are and where they have gone.
If I asked if you included the recent Australian election in that, would that be to “labor” the obvious?
Scott, it all works out OK, oddly enough. As I mentioned when I moved here, this is the third team I’ve followed, but I still get to cheer for the same players (Derek Rucker and Simon Kerle from the Townsville Suns and Mick Hill from the Canberra Cannons)
PML, yes it would
Wildcats are gonna get a big reception at Perth Airport today, after there start to the season (3 wins and one loss on the road tour). Scott Fisher, their new coach, is pretty damn awesome. Somebody should coopt him into runnning the army or the next olympics, maybe 🙂
