Over the page, I’ve got some tables on tax rates, which I pasted from a Word document, saved as HTML. They look nice, but for some reason each one is preceded by a huge amount of blank space. Can anyone tell me how to get rid of this?
The tables are of some interest in themselves, so please take a look

John:
Word documents saved as HTML have a problem with repetitive, useless tags. One thing you could do is downloadHTML-Tidy – a program that attempts to clean up malformed HTML. There are several options inside designed primarily for Word. Turn them all on, and see how you go. Good luck.
It’s a right mess… there is a close-paragraph tag in the middle of the first start table tag, for a start. And what are all these mso- attributes? I second HTML-Tidy (with the high powered option for MSWord turned on).
That seemed to help, thanks. See the entry above this one on “Tax tables”
