Blogroll changes

I’ve added The Currency Lad to the blogroll. This was long overdue, as CL is easily the best blogger on the conservative side of Australian politics, but for a long time his blog template was unreadable on Safari. I checked a little while ago, and found the template problem now resolved. here’s an interesting first birthday reflection on blogging .

I’ve deleted a few dead or moribund links, among whom I’ll mention Rob Schaap, whose irregular, idiosyncratic and lengthy essays were one of the most interesting features of the early days of Ozplogistan. Feel free to post suggested additions in the comments section. I’m a bit overstretched at the moment, so it may be a while before anything happens.

  1. Yes CL is a definate plus for bloggers to read however whether he is conservative is a different matter

  2. Well he fulfills one of the requirements for conservatism, as defined by Hayek in his esay ‘why I am not a conservative’, that is a suspicion of free markets and the cognate belief that the New Deal was a Good Thing.

  3. Kevin Carson is one of the sounder individualist anarchists, keeping in touch with reality and applying sound thinking. As usual, like most people, he is sounder on diagnosis of trouble than on prescription of cures – but hey, that’s what we’re here to try to nut out.

Kevin Carson’s main site is here and his blog is here. They are very good for comparison with what he calls “vulgar libertarians”, in analogy to “vulgar Marxists”. And I believe that ethically they are very sound indeed, with the caveat that we often do what we didn’t intend.
