False positives

Akismet has started flagging lots of genuine comments as spam. I’m manually despamming when I get time, and will work on a fix when I get some more time – probably not for a week or two, unfortunately. So apologies for the disrupted discussion, brickbats to spammers of all kinds, and hope that normal service will return soon.

  1. Want to bet this is because of all the ‘brand names’ finding their way into the discussion generated by your ‘Prada, princesses, product placement’ post?

  2. The Akismet people have’nt been watching their Numb3ers ( Numb three ers in English) as then they would know that the spam detecting SVM algorithm could be poisoned by a “crack” mathematician.

  3. I think with your blog attracting a large number of genuine readers it would be safe to implement user moderated spam filters.

  4. HELLO AND HAPPY DAY TO YOU

SORRY TO HEAR ABOUT YOUR COMMENTS SPAM PROBLEM. PERHAPS I CAN CHEER YOU UP WITH A FINE SELECTION
OF RUSSIAN BRIDES, GENUINE ROLEX WATCHES, STOCK TIPS, AND PENIS ENLARGEMENT DEVICES.

  5. I wish there was a user moderated site with diaries along the lines of dkos but with an audience and series of topics that you find on johnquiggin.com.

  6. We are setting up a system for electronic identities. If you wish we could set up a way that people could register their interest in you with us and then you would know that they were genuine people. Let me know if you are interested.
