  1. The link, to an opinion piece by Frank Rich, still works. I suspect this will be the exception rather than the rule.
Minimal, Twitter style links like this were the norm in the early days of blogging. Long-form blogging was only just emerging in 2002

  2. The article “Sacrifice Is for Losers” mentions, among many fallen luminairies, “Dennis Kozlowski, the indicted Tyco C.E.O”.

“Tyco International plc was a security systems company incorporated in the Republic of Ireland,[2] with operational headquarters in Princeton, New Jersey, United States (Tyco International (US) Inc.). Tyco International was composed of two major business segments: security solutions and fire protection.

In 1992, Dennis Kozlowski became CEO of Tyco International, and, for the next several years, the company again adopted an aggressive acquisition strategy, eventually acquiring (by some accounts) over 3,000 other companies between 1991 and 2001.”

A friend in the 90’s in security business watched as Tyco aquired everything security. Another friend watched as Tyco did the same in fire /pumps.

Tyco was well know at the time as: Take Your Company Over.
