A future fund is what you set up when you are not going to do anything about the future. The HAFF (Housing Australia Future Fund) honors this ignoble neoliberal tradition. The scheme is a complete scam or will be turned into such by building interests. Just as providers are plundering the NDIS blind, the HAFF too will be plundered blind. Little or no help will get to the people who need it.
The capture of government by neoliberal capitalist interests is complete. It is impossible to get meaningful social action on any issue in Australia. None of this is sustainable socially, economically or environmentally. Australia faces an horrendous collapse in short order. Of course, none of this makes Little America (erm I mean Australia) special. We are just following the general stampede over the Seneca cliff.
